ok, it's friday night & i'm staring at this blog screen trying to think of some great story to share. let's see...nothing deep, spiritual, or funny comes to mind. so i'll just ramble a little. Letterman is about to give his top ten list (his list was lame) but now i'm inspired...
Cooka's TOP TEN reasons why everyone should get on the blogwagon...
#10 It's user friendly
#9 It's a great place to ramble
#8 It's a great way to stay in touch with dry witted friends
#7 It can make you laugh
#6 It can make you cry
#5 It's a good way to see what the students are thinking
#4 It's better than radio preachers! & deeper too
#3 It's a great place to pick on your friends
#2 It's a great place to encourage your friends
and the #1 reason to get on the blogwagon is...
the LEARNAGE FACTOR!!!
(learnage - pronounced "lurn-ege"; orgin: cooka's brain; definition: to learn a lot about)

i went to the fair - twice

the fair was great! the sights, the sounds, the smells! i love people watching. makes me laugh.

i went to the fair with my sis & our boys. fun times! although, it was cool & a little rainy. Tigger & Eyore (Josh & Colby) make me smile. Josh (happy-go-lucky) rode anything & everything- even when he had to ride alone. Colby the thinker, had to analyze each ride, and read the warnings, and the fine print & weigh out the pros & cons & then maybe if I begged him enough he'd ride something. :-) Kids are great! Thank You Lord for the boys!

Then i went to the fair a second time, without mel or the boys. I went with someone but it wasn't a family member. yes, it was a "date". we rode rides, ate junk, walked and talked. we talked church & football. please don't read tooo much into it --this is all so new to me! (& kind of embarassing. ) It was fun. let's just leave it at that...for now.

frazzled women unite

it's almost time for my weekly small group meeting. our group has just started a study called "victoriously frazzled". funny how things go...we picked this study becuz it sounded interesting & i thought i sensed that some of my dear friends were frazzled. i let them look through it & wa-lah -- we selected this study for at least the next 6 weeks. in the meantime, guess what? the frazzled one is me! my nerves, my energy level, my job, my plans...are at the current moment...frazzled. all this frazzling happened AFTER we chose this study. did i cause this? or did we "just happen" to choose this study in the nick of time! hee, hee

evolution is a crock!

Now i admit, i am no scientist! but there's no way that one can convince me that things just naturally get better and more sophisticated as time passes. (doesn't the theory of evolution try to prove somethin like that? we evolved from lower life things?) i have spent this week cleaning out the kids ministry bins for riverchase. it's hard work, but gracious me -- it had to be done. (and it's something that i was just dying to do. ) Our once nice neat organized bins had "evolved" into a trash heap. which goes to show me that without the help of someone bigger than ourselves we too would be trash. God is my helper, and thankfully He continues shaping this trash heap into something better. He is great and i'm thankful that HE is the one that changes things for the better!

it's funny-- while cleaning out those bins i found 400 puzzle pieces & when i put them together it created a "picasso" painting. hee, hee

half full or half empty

the first day of school my principal tells me that i'll be working just part-time this year. God says trust Him. so i do. this can be a good thing because now i may get the chance to sub some...even at colby's school. i believe that there is a Master Plan written by the Master planner & we will see how it all turns out. Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don't try to figure out everything on your own.Listen for God's voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; He's the one who will keep you on track. Don't assume that you know it all. Run to God! Run from evil!Your body will glow with health, your very bones will vibrate with life! Proverbs 3:5-6 The Message
